Joint Operational Planning

Joint Operational Planning is a fundamental preparedness tool used to develop emergency operations plans, functional annexes, and supporting documents necessary for effective response and recovery. IEMA’s “Joint Operational Planning – JOP” course ensures that staff responsible for planning, training, response, and recovery to/from disaster can safely and efficiently identify the most efficient courses of action possible for: Protection of the public; Protection of critical infrastructure; and Protection of the environment.

Curricula will include instruction on the joint operational planning process, terminology, fundamentals of JOP; and application of JOP to response and recovery. A portion of the curricula will be devoted to hands-on development of a response plan using JOP process. Upon completion, participants will be provided with joint operational planning templates, forms, and reference material for use within a jurisdiction.
