Radon Qualification Courses

The first step in applying for a Professional or Technician License is to complete an IEMA approved Qualification Course.

The second step is to apply for and pass the Illinois Licensing Exam.

The final step is to fill out the appropriate application, pay the appropriate fee and include all items listed in Section 422.60 of 32 Illinois Administrative Code 422.  For those applying for a Radon Professional or Laboratory Analysis License include a Quality Assurance Program as part of the license application.  Below are links to the applications for licenses.

Quality Assurance Program Guidance

To assist applicants IEMA provides guidance on writing Quality Assurance Programs.  The instructions in this guidance document describe the areas and information needed by the Agency to evaluate an applicant’s Quality Assurance Program for a professional license.  The regulations require licensees to develop and implement written policies and procedures, which ensure compliance with the Radon Industry Licensing Act and 32 Illinois Administrative Code 422.  The Appendices provide guidance and a sample Quality Assurance Program that an applicant may choose to use in their program.
