NRC Regulatory Issue Summary RIS-09-09: Use of Multiple Dosimetry and Compartment Factors in Determining Effective Dose Equivalent From External Radiation Exposure

The USNRC recently issued a Regulatory Issue Summary (RIS) entitled Use of Multiple Dosimetry and Compartment Factors in Determining Effective Dose Equivalent From External Radiation Exposure, dated June 13. 2009. The IEMA Division of Nuclear Safety determined that the method described is acceptable for Illinois licensees. The method may be used to demonstrate compliance with 32 Ill. Adm. Code 340 without obtaining prior written approval from the Agency. These are not new requirements. The document may be examined via the following link:
