The Illinois Department of Human Rights takes and
investigates charges of discrimination involving real estate
transactions (rentals, sales, and other transactions) involving residential and
commercial real property.
The Department also conducts education and
outreach activities for home seekers, landlords, property owners,
advertisers, and community organizations.
In pursuing these activities, the Department works in
partnership with other governmental entities and private
organizations.
