Volunteer!

A volunteer might...

• Tutor or mentor at-risk children
• Build homes for low income families
• Teach computer skills
• Make hospital visits
• Organize neighborhood watch programs
• Help communities recover from natural disasters
• Teach English to immigrants

Individuals age 55 and older utilize their skills and experiences to help their communities. They can serve from a few hours a week to forty hours a week in one or more efforts. Volunteers receive a pre-service orientation, followed by on-the-job training from the agency or organization where they are placed. While on duty, volunteers also receive supplemental insurance.

RSVP members include skilled carpenters, data entry workers, counselors, nutrition site aides, friendly visitors, income tax aides, newsletter editors and others.
